The poem looks a bit long when presented this way (compared to before), but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Still, if there is a shorter, suitable poem, let me know. Also, it doesn’t look as good as it could yet, still have to fiddle with it. The more I look at it, the more I realize it needs work…hmmm.

New photo in the slides at muslimetiquette.info; perhaps it’s worthy of being the default (first in the series)?

Adjusts some photo sets to be shorter, such as the working women and motherhood pages. Hopefully this is not noticeable.

There were a few added last month as well, such as the “Using this Site” photo with the girls on their laptop.

The site has been entirely redone since the last post — hence the long silence. It won’t look all that different; the major changes are under the hood. What you will notice:

The site should now be fully compatible with Internet Explorer 7!
Safari users will see several subtle enhancements that others won’t see, such as fading drop shadows, rounded corners, and border effects. (Firefox users will see the rounded corners.)

Pilgrimage (Hajj)

Updated the Pilgrimage (Hajj) and Charity (Zakat) pages. Not quite happy with either them — the Hajj page could be more inspiring, the Zakat page doesn’t quite capture the concept — but it’s an improvement.

Added photos elsewhere, like the humour, community, Europe, and culinary arts pages.

American Islam

Made a start on American Islam. Still a long ways to go, but I’m really happy with the way the Malcolm X page turned out!

Universal Apostleship & other minor updates

Started adding opening quotes to some of the pages, like Universal Apostleship, Sexuality, and one or two others. Keep an eye out for hadiths, poetry, wisdom quotes that are especially apropos for particular themes/pages.

Added photos to Shahada, Family, and Marriage. Surprisingly, it’s hard to find good shots even though these two should be amongst the most photographed themes out there. Large families, happy couples, in landscape format…
